Chief Executive Officer

Anthony Timbrell is the CEO of DBCT Management having joined the organisation in 2008. As CEO, Anthony takes responsibility for the overall strategic direction of the business. Anthony has extensive experience working in coal marketing and infrastructure for Rio Tinto, including a lengthy assignment in Japan, and most recently Foxleigh Mining.

Anthony brings to DBCT a broad understanding of the entire coal life cycle, having been involved in mining, logistics and marketing as well as an exhaustive list of contacts from both users and customers of DBCT.

Anthony was a customer representative during the negotiation of the original Access Undertaking for DBCT and has a keen appreciation for the coal industry generally. Anthony holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Newcastle.

Stephanie Commons

Chief Financial Officer

Stephanie Commons joined DBCT in October 2006 now holds the role of Chief Financial Officer.  Ms. Commons commenced her accounting career with Ernst & Young and spent over eight years working in Corporate Restructuring and Corporate Finance in Ernst & Young’s Brisbane and London offices.  During this time, Ms. Commons managed numerous restructuring, advisory and due diligence assignments for both listed and private equity clients.

Prior to joining DBCT, Ms. Commons worked on forensic assignments for the ATO and AFP and held consulting and commercial roles for both international corporates and advisory firms.  Ms. Commons holds a Bachelor of Science (Computing) from the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Business - Accountancy (with Distinction) from the Queensland University of Technology. She has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants since 1994.

Project Director

Peter Wotherspoon joined DBCT Management when the terminal was leased in 2001 and now holds the role of Project Director. Peter was the Site and Technical Manager for the first part of the $1.3Bn DBCT 7X Expansion and then the Deputy Project Director for the second part of the project. Since completion of 7X Peter has led a small team working on the Post 85 Expansion studies as well as retained overall responsibility for all construction based activities at DBCT.

Peter has almost 25 years in project delivery of heavy industrial/materials handling construction projects with a predominate focus on projects in an operating "brownfields" environment. Prior to moving to Queensland in 1995, Peter managed several water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Sydney and was responsible for managing the connection of Sydney's largest deep water ocean outfall tunnel at North Head in the early nineties. He has been involved with expansions of DBCT since joining the Construction Management team during the $180M Stage 3 Expansion in 1997 and was deputy Construction Manager for the Stage 5 Expansion on behalf of Ports Corporation of QLD and the Stage 6 Expansion for DBCT Management. He has an extensive knowledge of the operations at DBCT and has been instrumental in developing the scope and execution strategy of all recent expansions of DBCT.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) and a Graduate Diploma in Administration both from the University of Technology, Sydney.


Jonathan Blakey Headshot

Jonathan Blakey

General Manager - Commercial and Regulation

Jonathan is responsible for the commercial and regulatory matters associated with the ownership of DBCT. Jonathan joined DBCT Management in 2010 as a Senior Management Accountant, becoming Commercial Manager in 2014. He has supported corporate transactions and strategic planning processes for both DBCT Management and its parent company Brookfield, including the execution of new investments.

Prior to joining DBCT Management, Jonathan led the Treasury Accounting team at Suncorp Bank. During his time at the bank, he gained significant exposure to complex financial and reporting issues during the GFC. Prior to Suncorp, Jonathan was a Senior Business Analyst for Tradelink, after beginning his career as a Tax Accountant in 2003.

Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accountancy) and a Bachelor of Business Management (Management & Organisations) from the University of Queensland. He has been a member of CPA Australia since 2005.


Greg Horan HeadshotGreg Horan

Site General Manager

Greg Horan joined DBCT Management in 2015 and is the Site General Manager of Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal.  Greg has 17years experience in asset intensive industries such as coal and bauxite mining and processing, alumina refining and coal ports and has held senior management positions in Operations, Asset Management and Business Improvement.  Given Greg’s experience, he brings detailed knowledge of the entire coal chain and has worked for both users of DBCT and the Terminal Operator.

Greg completed a double Degree in Mechanical Engineering (hons) and Business (majoring in marketing), is a Master Black Belt in six sigma and has a Masters in Mineral Economics.
